Share mixes and promos
You recorded a fire set — now you need to share it. A 2-hour WAV mix is 1.2GB. Convert to MP3 and it's under 200MB, ready for SoundCloud, Mixcloud, or sending to promoters.

Why share mixes and promos?
Recorded DJ sets and promo mixes are typically exported as WAV from your recording software or mixer. That's great for quality but terrible for sharing. A 1-hour set at 44.1kHz/16bit is roughly 600MB in WAV. At 320kbps MP3, the same set is about 170MB. SoundCloud, Mixcloud, and most hosting platforms accept MP3 natively. Promoters and labels expect MP3 promos they can preview quickly — not massive WAV files that take minutes to download.
How to share mixes and promos
- 1Export or record your mix as WAV
- 2Drop the WAV file onto the converter
- 3Select MP3 at 320kbps
- 4Download your compressed mix
- 5Upload to SoundCloud, Mixcloud, or send directly
Tips
- 320kbps is the standard for DJ mixes — anything lower and listeners may notice on headphones
- Some platforms re-encode your upload anyway, so 320kbps MP3 is plenty
- Add ID3 tags (artist, title, artwork) after conversion for a professional presentation
- For Mixcloud, 320kbps MP3 is their recommended upload format
Frequently asked questions
- Should I upload WAV to SoundCloud instead?
- SoundCloud re-encodes everything to 128kbps Opus for free accounts (256kbps for Go+). Uploading WAV vs 320kbps MP3 makes no audible difference in the final stream. Save the bandwidth.
- What about FLAC for mix uploads?
- FLAC is a good middle ground — smaller than WAV, lossless quality. But most sharing platforms compress to lossy anyway, and MP3 is universally compatible if you're emailing files directly.
